Agentforce Specialist Exam Format

The short version

You get 105 minutes for 60 scored multiple-choice questions, and up to five extra questions may be mixed in that do not count. The passing score is 72%. You sit the exam proctored, either at a testing center or online, with no reference materials allowed.

Salesforce does not tell you which questions are unscored, so treat every question as if it counts. The 72% applies to the scored questions. That is roughly 44 correct answers out of 60, but Salesforce publishes a percentage and not a conversion, so do not plan around a magic number. Aim well above it.

105 minutes for 60 questions is about 1 minute 45 seconds each. Scenario stems are long, so reading speed matters more than it first seems.

What the questions feel like

The exam guide describes multiple-choice questions. Do not count on questions being short definitions. A typical item gives a company, a goal, and one or two constraints, then asks which feature, agent type, or setup step fits. Sometimes the wrong options are real features that solve a neighboring problem.

Your practice should match that. Reading about a feature helps you recognize it; deciding between two similar features under a constraint is a separate skill. The exam question types page explains the common formats and how to read them, and the sample questions page shows the style.

Delivery

Salesforce lists two ways to take the exam: onsite at a testing center, or in an online proctored environment. Candidates must accept the Certification Program Agreement and Code of Conduct at the start of each exam. No printed or online materials may be referenced during the exam, so this is a closed-book test. For what to expect on the day, see the exam day guide.

Rescheduling and cancelling

Salesforce’s reschedule and cancellation policy sets different deadlines by delivery type:

  • Testing center: change or cancel at least 48 hours before the start time.
  • Online proctored: change or cancel at least 24 hours before the start time.
  • No-show: if you miss the exam without contacting Salesforce Help before the start time, you are charged the full exam fee.
  • Reschedule limit: exams cannot be rescheduled beyond one year from the original purchase date.

Check the policy page when you book, because dates and rules can change.

Retakes

The exam guide lists a retake fee but no waiting period or attempt limit, and the reschedule policy page does not state one either. Because we could not confirm a waiting period, check the current Salesforce policy at booking before you plan a quick second try. Use the time between attempts to study your weakest section, not to repeat the same notes.

Maintenance and expiry

This is the part many people miss. Salesforce says you must complete the certification maintenance module on Trailhead once a year. If you do not finish the maintenance requirements by the due date, the certification expires. Salesforce’s expiration page adds that reinstatement requests are reviewed case by case and are not guaranteed. The due dates sit in Salesforce’s maintenance schedule, which follows the release cycle.

Plan for that from day one. The certification is not a one-time trophy; it asks for a small yearly effort.

How the exam keeps changing

The outline moves with Salesforce releases. This one is aligned to Spring ’26, and Salesforce’s maintenance material already mentions newer topics. Before you book, open the exam guide and confirm that the section list and weightings match the table on the overview page.
