Agentforce Specialist Sample Questions

About these questions

These five questions are original. We wrote them in the style of the Agentforce Specialist outline, with most of them in the larger sections. They are not real exam questions, and the real exam will word things differently. The bold line in each hidden block gives the answer in words.

How to use these

Try each question without notes and choose an answer before you open the explanation. Then read the explanation even if you were right, because the reason the closest wrong option fails is where the learning is. If you slip on a topic, revisit it in domains explained.

Question 1 (AI Agents)

Harbor Lane Outfitters is building an agent for its public website. Visitors are not signed in, and the security review says the agent must not depend on a signed-in Salesforce user. Which agent type fits?

  • A. An Employee agent, with a broad permission set assigned to it
  • B. A Service agent
  • C. An Employee agent published on a public channel
  • D. Either type, because the Agent API makes every session anonymous
Show the answer and explanation

Correct answer: B. Service agents are built for customer-facing conversations and do not rely on a signed-in end user. Employee agents run in the context of the signed-in user and receive access through profiles or permission sets, so they suit internal staff. Option C is the closest wrong answer: publishing on a public channel does not turn an Employee agent into one that works for anonymous visitors. Option D is wrong because the Agent API does not remove the difference between the two types.

Question 2 (AI Agents)

A support team wants its Service agent to answer customers inside the chat window on its website and in its mobile app. Which channel should the specialist configure?

  • A. Service Email
  • B. Partner Telephony
  • C. Bring Your Own Channel
  • D. Messaging Enhanced Chat
Show the answer and explanation

Correct answer: D. Messaging Enhanced Chat is the channel behind chat that is embedded in a website or a mobile app. Service Email handles inbound email, and Partner Telephony handles voice calls. Bring Your Own Channel is the closest wrong option, but it exists for channels that Salesforce does not provide out of the box, which is not the case for web and in-app chat.

Question 3 (Prompt Engineering)

A prompt template drafts a letter that must show the customer’s exact outstanding balance. The balance is stored on the account record, and the business says the model must never paraphrase or estimate it. Which grounding technique fits best?

  • A. A retriever over the billing policy documents
  • B. Record merge fields
  • C. A web retriever
  • D. An ensemble retriever
Show the answer and explanation

Correct answer: B. A record merge field sends the stored value itself, so the model receives the exact balance. Retrievers work semantically and return passages judged relevant, which cannot guarantee that one precise number appears. An ensemble retriever, the closest wrong option, combines several retrievers but is still a search, so it has the same limitation. A web retriever reaches public internet content and has nothing to do with a record in your org.

Question 4 (Data 360 Fundamentals)

Summit Pharma wants to create its first Agentforce Data Library from a set of PDF files. The org has a supported edition with the right add-on, but nobody has set up Data 360. Which two statements are true? Choose two.

  • A. Data 360 must be set up before the library can be created
  • B. Every PDF must first be converted into a Knowledge article
  • C. The library needs a supported edition with a qualifying add-on
  • D. Agentforce Observability must be switched on first
  • E. A custom retriever must be built before saving the library
Show the answer and explanation

Correct answers: A and C. The library is built on Data 360, so Data 360 has to be set up first, and the feature depends on a supported edition together with a qualifying add-on. When a file-based library is saved, it creates the supporting pieces, such as the data streams, the search index, and the retrievers, so you do not build a retriever beforehand (E). Converting files to Knowledge articles (B) and enabling Observability (D) are unrelated to creating a library.

Question 5 (Governance and Observability)

Ridgeway Telecom wants to be alerted within minutes when a production agent starts returning errors, instead of spotting it in a weekly report. The org already has the required data platform and tracing in place. Which capability fits?

  • A. Agent Health Monitoring
  • B. Agent Analytics
  • C. Agent Optimization
  • D. A scheduled run of a Testing Center suite
Show the answer and explanation

Correct answer: A. Agent Health Monitoring shows performance trends in real time and raises alerts when errors occur, which matches the need for fast notice. Agent Analytics, the closest wrong option, reports on how agents perform across real interactions over time, so it suits reviews rather than alerts. Agent Optimization helps explain past decisions by capturing the reasoning behind them. Testing Center checks an agent against defined test cases before or between releases, not live traffic.
