Agentforce Specialist Exam Guide

The short version

The Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist exam checks whether you can choose, configure, and govern AI agents on the Salesforce platform. It is a 105-minute proctored exam with 60 scored multiple-choice questions, and the passing score is 72%. This guide follows the exam guide that Salesforce publishes, which is aligned to the Spring ’26 release and was last checked on October 18, 2026.

What the exam is

Agentforce is Salesforce’s platform for building AI agents that act inside your org. The exam is less about clicking through setup screens and more about decisions. Which agent type fits this use case? Which grounding method returns an exact value? What has to exist before a feature works? Which tool tells you why a test failed?

Expect scenario questions where two options look reasonable and one detail in the stem decides. That detail is usually a constraint such as “customers are not signed in”, “the number must never be paraphrased”, or “the content is unstructured”. Reading the constraint first is half the skill.

The exam outline is current and moves with Salesforce releases. Material written for older outlines may talk about topics and products that have since been renamed, so always compare any study source with the exam guide itself.

Who it is for

Salesforce recommends preparing with hands-on experience, training, and self-study. Typical candidates are administrators, developers, and consultants who configure agents, prompt templates, or data grounding. There are no prerequisites. Salesforce suggests, but does not require, Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator and Platform App Builder. The prerequisites page covers what helps.

Prompt Engineering

Prompt Builder, access controls for prompt templates, template types such as field generation and flex, grounding techniques, writing good prompts, and the Trust Layer’s security and privacy features.

Data 360 Fundamentals

The Agentforce Data Library plus the basics of chunking, indexing, and retrievers.

Testing, Deployment, and Maintenance

Testing Center and how its evaluations work, and what to consider when moving an agent or a template from sandbox to production.

Frequently asked questions

Does the certification expire?

Salesforce says you must complete the certification maintenance module on Trailhead once a year, and that the certification expires if you miss the due date.

Is there a short exam code?

The exam guide we checked does not print one. Use the full exam name when you register.

Do I need Agentforce experience first?

There is no requirement. The exam does assume you have worked with the platform, so expect to build a small agent yourself while you prepare.
