Have you worked through the Microsoft Learn modules for DP-600 and still do not know whether you would pass today? These five practice tests give you a clear answer, question by question and domain by domain.

This practice set contains 500 original questions for exam DP-600, Implementing Analytics Solutions Using Microsoft Fabric, aligned to the skills measured as of October 19, 2026. Every question maps to one of the three official domains, Maintain a data analytics solution, Prepare data, and Implement and manage semantic models, in the same proportions as the real exam.

The DP-600 outline has changed since launch. The domain "Plan, implement, and manage a solution for data analytics" is gone, querying with SQL, KQL and DAX now sits under Prepare data, and newer topics such as the OneLake catalog, the Real-Time hub and the choice between Direct Lake on OneLake and Direct Lake on the SQL analytics endpoint are in scope. Material written for the earlier outline trains you for a different exam.

The five DP-600 tests build up in difficulty:

  • Practice Test 1, Groundwork: one concept per question, your baseline.
  • Practice Test 2, In Practice: short scenarios that separate features candidates confuse.
  • Practice Test 3, Trade-offs: two answers look right and one constraint decides.
  • Practice Test 4, Under the Hood: permissions, syntax, settings and step order.
  • Practice Test 5, Exam Day: long case-style scenarios under the tightest time limit.

Every answer option has its own feedback, so you learn why the wrong answers are wrong, not only which one is right. Each question also has an overall explanation that ends with a link to the Microsoft Learn page behind it, so you can check the source yourself.

After each attempt PrepKiwi shows your score per domain, so you know exactly where to revise. The passing mark is 80% for Practice Tests 1 to 4 and 85% for Practice Test 5, deliberately higher than the real exam, because practicing at home is easier than a proctored exam.

What this practice set is not: it is not a video course and not a copy of the real exam. It is a question bank that tests and explains. Use it alongside the free Microsoft Learn training and hands-on time in Microsoft Fabric, and use Practice Test 5 as your final check before you book DP-600.

Groundwork: Fabric Analytics Building Blocks

100 questions · 165 minutes · pass mark 80%

Practice Test 1 is your baseline. Its 100 questions cover all three DP-600 skill areas in the official proportions: maintaining a data analytics solution, preparing data, and implementing and managing semantic models. Each question tests one concept directly: which workspace role can do what, what a shortcut is, what Direct Lake does, which SQL, KQL or DAX construct returns the result you need. The stems are short and 12 questions ask you to choose two answers. You have 165 minutes, which leaves room to think, and you need 80% to pass. That bar is deliberately higher than the real exam's 700 scaled score, because a scaled score is not a percentage and a set of foundational questions should feel comfortable before you move on. Take this test cold, before you study further, and use the per-domain score to see where your gaps are. Every answer option has its own feedback, and every question ends with a link to the Microsoft Learn page behind it.

In Practice: Everyday Fabric Scenarios

100 questions · 170 minutes · pass mark 80%

Practice Test 2 moves from definitions to short, realistic scenarios. You are an analytics engineer at a fictional company and have to pick the right Fabric feature for the job: lakehouse or warehouse, shortcut or mirroring, Dataflow Gen2 or a notebook, Import, DirectQuery or Direct Lake, a deployment rule or a Git branch. Many questions put two neighbouring features side by side that candidates often confuse. The domain mix matches the official weighting, 14 of the 100 questions are choose-two, and you have 170 minutes. The passing mark is 80%. Read the feedback on the options you did not choose as well: it explains what each neighbouring feature is actually for, which is exactly the distinction the real exam tests. Review your weakest domain before you start Practice Test 3.

Trade-offs: When Two Answers Look Right

100 questions · 170 minutes · pass mark 80%

Practice Test 3 is about judgement. In most questions two answers could work, and one stated constraint decides between them: security, cost, data freshness, write support, capacity, licensing or the language a team already uses. The DP-600 exam is full of this pattern, and it is where well-prepared candidates lose points by answering the question they expected instead of the one on the screen. The 100 questions keep the official domain proportions, 14 are choose-two, and the stems are longer than in the first two tests. You have 170 minutes and need 80% to pass. After each attempt, look at the questions you missed and find the constraint you overlooked; the overall explanation names it for every question and links to the Microsoft Learn source.

Under the Hood: Permissions, Syntax and Settings

100 questions · 145 minutes · pass mark 80%

Practice Test 4 goes into the details that separate "you know the feature" from "you have configured it": item permissions such as ReadData, ReadAll and Build, T-SQL security syntax, KQL operators, DAX query syntax, deployment pipeline rules, XMLA endpoint settings, Direct Lake framing and fallback behaviour, and incremental refresh parameters. Questions are shorter but more exact, and 16 of the 100 ask you to choose two or three answers. The domain mix matches the official weighting. You have 145 minutes and need 80% to pass. If you score well on Practice Tests 1 to 3 but struggle here, spend time in a Fabric trial workspace and try the settings yourself; the explanations point to the Microsoft Learn page for every detail.

Exam Day: Full-Length Simulation

100 questions · 155 minutes · pass mark 85%

Practice Test 5 is the dress rehearsal. The 100 questions use the longest, case-style stems in this practice set, with several constraints per question and topics from different domains mixed in one scenario. The domain proportions follow the official DP-600 weighting and 16 questions are multi-select. You have 155 minutes, the least thinking time per question in this practice set, so pace yourself as you would on exam day. Take it in one uninterrupted sitting, without notes. The passing mark is 85%, higher than in the other tests and higher than the real exam's scaled 700, because home practice is easier than a proctored exam and a clear margin is the best sign that you are ready to book. If you fall short, go back to your weakest domain, reread the explanations, and retake the test after a few days.

What you will practice

  • Test yourself on all three DP-600 skill areas, weighted like the real exam: maintain, prepare data, and semantic models
  • Choose confidently between lakehouse, warehouse, eventhouse, shortcuts, mirroring, Dataflow Gen2 and notebooks for a scenario
  • Read and reason about SQL, KQL and DAX queries the way the exam presents them
  • Configure security, Git integration, deployment pipelines and the XMLA endpoint with the right roles and settings
  • Pick the right storage mode and tune Direct Lake, composite models, calculation groups and incremental refresh
  • Learn from per-option feedback and a Microsoft Learn source link on every one of the 500 questions
  • Build exam stamina step by step, from foundational questions to a full-length, timed exam simulation
  • Find your weakest domain from the per-domain score and focus your revision where it counts

Who is this for

This practice set is for anyone preparing for Microsoft exam DP-600, Implementing Analytics Solutions Using Microsoft Fabric, and the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification. That includes Power BI developers and data analysts who are moving into Fabric, BI and data warehouse developers who build semantic models and star schemas, data engineers who want the analytics side of the certification, and students or career changers who have worked through the Microsoft Learn modules and want to know whether they are ready. If you studied with older DP-600 material, note that the exam now follows a three-domain outline (Maintain a data analytics solution, Prepare data, Implement and manage semantic models), aligned here to the skills measured as of October 19, 2026; DP-500, the retired Azure Enterprise Data Analyst exam, is not a substitute. This practice set is a bank of 500 exam-style questions with explanations. It checks and deepens what you know; it is not a video course and does not replace hands-on practice in Fabric.

Requirements

  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Power BI helps; beginners can start with Practice Test 1 and use the explanations to fill gaps.
  • The exam expects you to read SQL, KQL and DAX; you do not need to be an expert, but you should recognize SELECT, where/summarize and CALCULATE.
  • These are practice tests, meant to be used alongside the free Microsoft Learn training for DP-600, not instead of it.
