SC-300 Practice Tests: Identity and Access Administrator
500 questions on Entra ID users, Conditional Access, app identities, PIM and access reviews – 5 timed tests explained
Are you ready for SC-300? Reading the documentation tells you what Microsoft Entra can do. The exam asks something else: which feature, which setting and which role fits a specific situation, often with two answers that both look reasonable. These practice tests show you, domain by domain, whether you can make those calls.
**500 questions, aligned with the current study guide**
This practice set contains five practice tests of 100 questions each, mapped to the SC-300 skills measured as of the latest skills outline. Every test covers all four exam domains in the same proportions: implement and manage user identities, implement authentication and access management, plan and implement workload identities, and plan and automate identity governance.
**Why older SC-300 material falls short**
SC-300 has been revised several times since Azure AD was renamed Microsoft Entra ID. Global Secure Access (Private Access, Internet Access and the Microsoft traffic profile), migration away from AD FS, authentication context, protected actions and passkeys are now part of the exam, and the October 2026 update renamed several objectives again. Practice questions written a few years ago test old names, removed features and outdated defaults. That prepares you for an exam that no longer exists.
**Five tests, rising difficulty**
– Practice Test 1, Groundwork: core facts, one concept per question. Take it as your baseline.
- Practice Test 2, In Practice: short scenarios that separate easily confused features.
- Practice Test 3, Trade-offs: two defensible options, one constraint decides.
- Practice Test 4, Under the Hood: settings, defaults, cmdlets, limits and order of steps.
- Practice Test 5, Exam Day: long multi-requirement scenarios at exam pace.
**Explanations that teach**
Every answer option has its own explanation: why the correct option is right, and what each wrong option actually does, so the difference sticks. Each question also has an overall explanation with a link to the Microsoft Learn page it is based on.
**Measure your readiness**
After every attempt you see your score per domain, so you know where to focus. The pass mark is 80% for tests 1 to 4 and 85% for the final simulation, higher than the real exam requires, so you walk into the test center with a margin.
**What this practice set is not**
This is a set of practice exams, not a video course. It tests and explains, but it does not replace hands-on work in the Microsoft Entra admin center or the free official SC-300 learning paths on Microsoft Learn. Use it alongside them to find and close your gaps before exam day.
Groundwork: Core Microsoft Entra Identity and Access Concepts
100 questions · 165 minutes · pass mark 80%
Start here. This first test checks the core facts behind every SC-300 objective: Microsoft Entra roles and administrative units, users, groups and devices, B2B guests, hybrid identity with Connect Sync and Cloud Sync, authentication methods, Conditional Access, ID Protection, Global Secure Access, managed identities, enterprise apps, app registrations, Defender for Cloud Apps, entitlement management, access reviews, PIM and monitoring. Questions are short and test one concept each. Take it cold as a baseline: your per-domain score shows where to start studying. 100 questions (12 multi-select), 165 minutes. The pass mark is 80%, deliberately higher than what you need on the real exam, because a short, familiar question set at home is easier than a proctored exam.
In Practice: Real-World Scenarios Across All Four Domains
100 questions · 160 minutes · pass mark 80%
Short, realistic scenarios in the style of the real exam. You decide between features that are easy to mix up: an administrative unit or a restricted management administrative unit, B2B collaboration or B2B direct connect, Temporary Access Pass or a password reset, a managed identity or a service principal, an access package manager or a catalog owner. Every question maps to the October 28, 2026 skills outline and covers all four domains in the same proportions as the other tests. 100 questions (14 multi-select), 160 minutes, pass mark 80%. Read every explanation, also for the questions you got right: each answer option explains what that feature actually does.
Trade-offs: When Two Answers Look Right
100 questions · 160 minutes · pass mark 80%
In this test two answers usually look right. One stated constraint decides: the license you own, a hybrid or cloud-only identity, least privilege, external users, or the lowest administrative effort. This is the hardest part of SC-300, because both options are real Microsoft Entra features and only the constraint separates them. Read the whole stem before you look at the answers and underline the requirement that rules options out. 100 questions (14 multi-select), 160 minutes, pass mark 80%. Use the per-domain score to see which trade-offs still trip you up.
Under the Hood: Settings, Defaults, Cmdlets and Limits
100 questions · 145 minutes · pass mark 80%
The implementation details: setting names and default values, the order of configuration steps, Microsoft Graph PowerShell cmdlets, sync and token lifetimes, role requirements and service limits. Think of dynamic membership rules, cross-tenant synchronization mappings, Temporary Access Pass settings, Conditional Access session controls, Application Proxy connectors, app registration limits, access package expiration, PIM activation settings and the Log Analytics tables for sign-in data. The questions are shorter than in test 3, the clock is tighter. 100 questions (16 multi-select), 145 minutes, pass mark 80%.
Exam Day: Full-Length SC-300 Simulation
100 questions · 160 minutes · pass mark 85%
The readiness gate. Long, exam-style scenarios with several requirements per question and domains mixed together, at the pace of the real SC-300. Take this test last, in one uninterrupted sitting, without notes. 100 questions (16 multi-select), 160 minutes. The pass mark is 85%, higher than in the other tests and well above what the real exam asks of you: at home, without exam stress and with a question style you now know, you should clear the bar with room to spare. If you score below 85%, go back to your weakest domain, reread the explanations and retake the test after a few days.
What you will practice
- Test yourself on all four SC-300 domains with 500 questions mapped to the current Microsoft skills outline
- Choose correctly between Entra features that look alike: roles vs admin units, B2B vs direct connect, MI vs service principal
- Apply Conditional Access, ID Protection, authentication methods and Global Secure Access to realistic exam scenarios
- Learn from every answer: each option explains why it is right or wrong, plus an overall explanation with a Microsoft Learn link
- Build up from core facts to trade-offs and implementation details, ending with a full-length timed exam simulation
- Find your weak spots with a score per exam domain after every attempt and target your revision there

Who is this for
This practice set is for everyone preparing for Microsoft exam SC-300 and the Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate certification: Microsoft 365 and Azure administrators who take on identity work, security engineers who need to prove their Microsoft Entra skills, help desk and system administrators moving into identity and access management, consultants who implement Conditional Access, PIM and identity governance for customers, and students or career switchers aiming for a first security role. It also suits candidates who plan SC-100 (Cybersecurity Architect Expert), which accepts this associate certification as a prerequisite. If you studied with older material, note that SC-300 has changed several times since Azure AD became Microsoft Entra ID: Global Secure Access, AD FS migration, authentication context and protected actions are now in scope, and the study guide is updated regularly. This practice set gives you 500 exam-style questions with explanations to test and sharpen your knowledge. It is not a video course and does not replace hands-on practice or the official learning paths.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Azure; hands-on time in the Microsoft Entra admin center helps a lot. Beginners can start with test 1.
- Familiarity with Active Directory Domain Services, PowerShell and basic KQL, as the official SC-300 exam profile expects.
- These are practice exams, not a video course: use them next to the free official Microsoft Learn learning paths for SC-300, not instead of them.
