DP-750 Azure Databricks Data Engineer: 5 Practice Tests
500 questions on Unity Catalog, data ingestion, Lakeflow pipelines and jobs, and workload optimization. Five full tests.
Are you ready for DP-750, or do you just feel ready? The fastest way to find out is to answer realistic questions under time pressure and see exactly where you lose points. That is what this practice set is for.
You get five full practice tests of 100 questions each: 500 original questions written against the DP-750 study guide with skills measured as of October 19, 2026. Every test follows the official domain weighting: set up and configure an Azure Databricks environment, secure and govern Unity Catalog objects, prepare and process data, and deploy and maintain data pipelines and workloads.
DP-750 is not DP-203 with a new number. The retired Azure Data Engineer Associate exam spread across Synapse, Data Factory and Stream Analytics. DP-750 is about Azure Databricks: Unity Catalog, Lakeflow Connect, Lakeflow Spark Declarative Pipelines (formerly Delta Live Tables), Lakeflow Jobs and Declarative Automation Bundles (formerly Databricks Asset Bundles). Practice material built on old product names or the old DP-203 scope prepares you for an exam that no longer exists. The October 2026 outline update, including the bundle rename, is already covered.
The five DP-750 practice tests get harder step by step:
– Test 1, Groundwork: one concept per question, to check the core vocabulary.
- Test 2, In Practice: short scenarios that separate features that are easy to confuse.
- Test 3, Trade-offs: two answers look right; one requirement decides.
- Test 4, Under the Hood: syntax, settings, privileges and the order of steps.
- Test 5, Exam Day: long multi-domain scenarios at exam pace.
Every answer option has its own feedback, so you learn why a wrong option is wrong and what it actually does. Every question also has an overall explanation that ends with a link to the official Microsoft Learn source, so you can read further right away.
After each attempt, PrepKiwi shows your score per domain. Use it to decide what to study next. The pass mark is 80% for Tests 1 to 4 and 85% for Test 5, deliberately higher than the real exam, because practicing at home is easier than a proctored exam.
What this practice set is not: it is not a video course and it does not replace hands-on work in an Azure Databricks workspace. It tests your knowledge and explains the answers. Use it next to the free Microsoft Learn training for DP-750.
Groundwork: Compute, Unity Catalog and Core Concepts
100 questions · 165 minutes · pass mark 80%
Start here. These 100 questions check the core building blocks of DP-750 one concept at a time: compute types and access modes, the Unity Catalog object model, privileges and secret scopes, table formats, SCD types, COPY INTO and Auto Loader, pipeline stages, Lakeflow Jobs triggers, Git folders and the first steps in monitoring. Stems are short and direct, so you learn the vocabulary before the scenarios get harder. The question mix follows the official domain weighting of the October 19, 2026 skills outline, including 12 multi-select questions. You have 165 minutes, and the pass mark is 80%, higher than the real exam's scaled 700, because a practice test at home is easier than a proctored exam. Take this test cold as a baseline, then use the domain report to see where to study first. Every option comes with its own feedback and every question ends with a link to Microsoft Learn.
In Practice: Everyday Azure Databricks Engineering Scenarios
100 questions · 165 minutes · pass mark 80%
Test 2 moves from definitions to short workplace scenarios. Each question describes a realistic situation - a nightly job that fails, a partner who needs shared data, a table that keeps growing - and asks you to pick the feature that fits. The focus is on neighbours that are easy to confuse: standard versus dedicated access mode, streaming tables versus materialized views, row filters versus dynamic views, file arrival versus table update triggers, Spark cache versus disk cache. 100 questions across all four DP-750 domains in the official weighting, 14 of them multi-select. Time limit 165 minutes, pass mark 80%. Read the explanation of every question, including the ones you got right: the feedback on the wrong options is where most of the learning is.
Trade-offs: When Two Answers Look Right
100 questions · 170 minutes · pass mark 80%
In Test 3 two answers usually look defensible, and one constraint in the scenario decides between them: cost, latency, isolation, governance, operational effort, existing data or a compliance rule. You will choose between serverless and classic compute, managed and external tables, COPY INTO and Auto Loader, notebooks and Lakeflow Spark Declarative Pipelines, OPTIMIZE and auto compaction, Log Analytics and audit system tables. Stems are longer, so train yourself to find the deciding requirement before you look at the options. 100 questions, 14 multi-select, all four DP-750 domains in the official weighting. Time limit 170 minutes, pass mark 80%. Each explanation says why the losing option falls short, so you learn the decision rule, not just the answer.
Under the Hood: Syntax, Settings and Privileges
100 questions · 135 minutes · pass mark 80%
Test 4 checks the details you need when you actually build: SQL and PySpark syntax, table properties, job and bundle settings, cron expressions, CLI options, required privileges and the order of steps. Expect questions on GRANT and ownership, row filters and column masks, secret scope setup, CLUSTER BY, COPY INTO options, MERGE clauses, pipeline expectations, file arrival trigger prerequisites, Declarative Automation Bundle variables and targets, system tables for cost, and Spark UI troubleshooting. Questions are shorter than in Test 3 but leave no room for guessing. 100 questions, 16 multi-select, all four DP-750 domains in the official weighting. The clock is tighter: 135 minutes. Pass mark 80%.
Exam Day: Full-Length DP-750 Simulation
100 questions · 160 minutes · pass mark 85%
Save this test for last and take it in one uninterrupted sitting. Test 5 simulates the pressure of exam day: the longest scenarios in this practice set, several constraints per question, and domains mixed within the same case - a governance requirement inside a pipeline question, a cost limit inside a compute choice. 100 questions, 16 multi-select, weighted like the October 19, 2026 DP-750 skills outline. You get 160 minutes, which leaves the least thinking time per question of all five tests. The pass mark is 85%, deliberately above the real exam's scaled 700, so that passing here gives you a margin for exam nerves and unfamiliar question formats. If you score below 85%, go back to your weakest domain in the report, reread the explanations and retake the test after a few days.

Who is this for
This practice set is for data engineers who build or are about to build pipelines on Azure Databricks and want to earn the Microsoft Certified: Azure Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification. It also fits BI and analytics engineers moving from SQL-only work into Spark and Lakeflow, cloud and platform engineers who administer Databricks workspaces and Unity Catalog, and students or career changers who have finished the Microsoft Learn path and want to know whether they are ready. If you once prepared for DP-203, the Azure Data Engineer Associate exam that Microsoft retired on March 31, 2025, note that DP-750 is a different exam: it covers Azure Databricks only, with Unity Catalog, Lakeflow Jobs, Lakeflow Spark Declarative Pipelines and Declarative Automation Bundles at its core, and no Synapse, Stream Analytics or Data Factory authoring. Old DP-203 material will not prepare you for it. This practice set tests and explains; it does not teach Azure Databricks from scratch. Use it to measure your readiness and to close gaps, next to hands-on practice and the official training.
Requirements
- Basic SQL and some Python (PySpark) reading skills. You don't need to be an expert, but the exam profile assumes you can read a SELECT, a MERGE and a DataFrame transformation.
- Some familiarity with Azure (subscriptions, storage accounts, Microsoft Entra ID) helps. Hands-on time in an Azure Databricks workspace makes the scenarios much easier to follow.
- These are practice tests, not a video course. Use them alongside the free official Microsoft Learn training for DP-750, not instead of it.
